Hey! You have a blog! I saw your comment on my last post and thought I'd come take a look. The way I figured out most tricks to using a blog was to simply read Google's help for different questions. Probably the most helpful tip is to receive emails when someone comments on your blog. I think you take care of that in the settings tab on your blog setup page.
I'd love to see some photos of the potato tower. I'm trying to imagine what that is...and maybe use one in my own garden.
